The use of micro-cups in the middle eliminates dead spots by tightening the center.  The center area can be struck in numerous ways to create bell sounds, but without reducing stick definition.

The Indigo Slap ride has a very small bell and microcups for a clear stick definition and extra darkness.

The Indigo 23" Crash Ride is warm and dark with a balanced crash and good stick definition.
